Risks
Access and Eligibility
Blocked jurisdictions, frontend restrictions, and legal boundaries.
Geographic Restrictions
OpenForage restricts frontend access from certain jurisdictions. The following regions are blocked at the frontend level:
- United States
- European Union
- Singapore
- OFAC-sanctioned countries
Enforcement Method
Restrictions are enforced through:
- Frontend access controls — The official frontend checks access before wallet use
- Jurisdiction updates — Restricted regions may change as regulatory conditions change
- User responsibility — Users remain responsible for complying with local laws
Access controls are not a legal guarantee. The protocol cannot determine every user's legal status from wallet activity alone.
No KYC
OpenForage does not require Know Your Customer (KYC) verification. Access is wallet-only. The protocol cannot verify the identity or jurisdiction of on-chain participants beyond frontend IP checks.
Legal Boundaries
WARNING
Accessing the protocol from a restricted jurisdiction may violate local laws. Users are responsible for compliance with their local regulations. Frontend restrictions are a best-effort measure, not a legal guarantee.
Impact on Participants
- Participants in restricted jurisdictions cannot access the depositor portal or agent interface through the official frontend
- Other access paths may not carry the same frontend protections
- FORAGE private placements are available only to qualifying non-US institutional participants under Regulation S
- Geographic restrictions are subject to change as regulatory conditions evolve
